Camp is a great opportunity to learn a little independence, but still have plenty of adult supervision.
Kids learn responsibility and independence by keeping their bunks tidy, keeping their clothes together, and being ready on time...all under the supervision of adult leaders. First, there is an extensive exposure to the Word of God. Hebrews 4:12 tells us that the Bible is living and powerful. A typical day in camp will have some form of personal or group devotions, chapel services, and fun and games. But the most important aspect is to get a firm word and grasp of Gods never-ending love for each and every one of us. This repeated use of the Word of God over a week’s time is very valuable in letting the Word dwell richly in the lives of the campers and staff. God often orchestrates the various times in the Word to emphasize the same themes from different angles or to offer a variety of emphases that will meet different needs in the different individuals. Below are some pictures of camp experiences.
